Evaleen C. Haase, a longtime resident of Stevens Point, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at a nursing home in Avon Park, Fla., where she had lived since July 2008.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point.
Mrs. Haase was born Feb. 27, 1919, in Buffalo, Minn., a daughter of the late George and Edith Geiger. After completing elementary school in 1933, she moved with her family to a farm near Stratford. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1937.
She was married to John R. Dorn in September of 1939. He died in 1972.
She was married to Myron “Mike” Haase in April of 1982. He preceded her in death.
She was a retail business owner and operator, an instructor of sewing techniques for Singer Co. and a claims supervisor with Sentry Insurance where she retired.
She volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul and was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point.
She moved to Sebring, Fla., in September 2004.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy (David) Blaney, Sebring, Fla.; one son, Ray (Louise) Dorn, Sebring, Fla.; one sister, Shirley(Milton) Schar, Racine; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, John Dorn; three brothers; and four sisters.
