Karen M. Sternweis, 59, Plover, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the Mass.
Memorials may be designated to Our Lady of Peace Church or Special Olympics of Stevens Point.

Ms. Sternweis was born Sept. 19, 1952, in Marshfield, a daughter of George and Lorraine (Griesbach) Sternweis. She was born with cerebral palsy and grew up in her parents’ home. She then lived in various residential care facilities.
Survivors include her parents, Marshfield; three brothers, Ken, Miami Beach, Fla., David (Debbie), Clovis, Calif., and Mark (Shelli), Marshfield; and two sisters, Julie (Dave) Wilken, Uncasville, Conn., and Lisa (Edgar) Torres, Port Edwards.
