Harley E. Peterson, 81, Stevens Point, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Private burial will be in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.

Mr. Peterson was born June 18, 1930, in Owen, a son of the late Swan and Ada (Thorson) Peterson. He graduated from Owen High School in 1948.
He entered the service on March 30, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minn. He was a sergeant in the Army. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 10, 1953, at Camp Carson, Colo.
He attended the Wausau Vocational and Adult School and received a degree in residential design.
He was married to Carol Bushman on March 7, 1970, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point. She died on July 19, 2003.
He worked for the Soo-Line Rail Road and Guzman Corporation, retiring in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Steven (Janelle) and Scott (Patti), both of Stevens Point; and four grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by an infant grandchild.
