Germain E. “Jerry” Kunze, 82, Weslaco, Texas, a former Stevens Point resident and Sentry Insurance executive, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Weslaco, Texas.

Mr. Kunze was born March 2, 1929, in St. Paul, Minn., a son of the late Arthur and Helen (Wolkerstorfer) Kunze.
He retired Jan. 1, 1991, from his position as assistant general counsel at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point after 35 years of service.
He was past president of Sentry Singers, Sentry Toastmasters and the Stevens Point Serra Club. He was a member of the Stevens Point Barbershoppers and was on the District 35 Toastmasters Advisory Board. He was an active member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He served as lector, Eucharistic minister and member of the choir. Most recently, he was a lector at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Weslaco, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joyce; three daughters, Lisa (Ron) Chakaravarti, Linda (Gregory) Cordes, and Lori Kunze; two sons, Timothy and David (Tracey); two sisters, Constance Doyan and his twin sister Mary Arthur; and five granddaughters.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Arthur; and one sister, Phyllis Kustelski.
