Apolonia M. “Pauline” Betker, 82, Shantytown, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at her home, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent, with the Rev. Augustine Bentil officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the Mass. St. Ladislaus Rosary Society will pray the rosary at 9:30a.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials in her name will be established at a later date.

Mrs. Betker was born Jan. 22, 1930, in the town of Bevent, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Zolondz) Wierzba. She attended Polk School.
She was married to Ernest Betker on Aug. 23, 1947, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent.
They lived in Milwaukee for a time and then settled on their farm in Shantytown. They retired from farming in 1994.
She was a member of the St. Ladislaus Rosary Society for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Daniel (Rita); four daughters, Lorraine (Paul) Theisen, Carol (John) Wojcik, Diane Pliska and Janice Laskowski; two sisters, Clara Kurszewski and Maryann Singer; one brother, Frank (Jeanette) Wierzba; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Ronnie; one son-in-law, Thomas Laskowski; three brothers, Roman, John and Felix Wierzba; and two sisters, Helen Lewandowski and Alvina Kurszewski.
