Ruth Engleman, 83, a resident at Oakridge Senior Living in Stevens Point, died Monday Jan. 9, 2012, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Stevens Point, with the Revs. Dee Webber and Howard Hintzman officiating.
Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until the services.
Memorials will be established in her name for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the second floor ICU Unit at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital. Memorials can be sent to Peggy Selck, 2533 Algoma St., Stevens Point, WI 54481.

Mrs. Engleman was born Oct. 1, 1928, in Gering, Neb., a daughter of the late Jacob and Eva (Knaub) Wegelin. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1947.
She was married to Donald Engleman on Dec. 14, 1947, in Scottsbluff, Neb. He died in 1983.
The couple stayed in Nebraska until moving to California in 1951. After 10 years on the West Coast, they returned to Nebraska, where she worked at Montgomery Ward in Scottsbluff. She moved to California in 1984 to be near her siblings. In 2002 she moved to Oakridge Senior Living in Stevens Point.
Survivors include three sons, Larry (Tami), Scottsbluff, Neb., Tom, Gering, Neb., and Steve (Marilyn), Morrill, Neb.; one daughter, Peggy (Bill) Selck, Stevens Point; one sister, Freda Heimbuck, Mission Viejo, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by six brothers, one sister and one grandson.
