Lillian B. “Lil” Jakusz, 79, 501 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point, following a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass. St. Peter’s Rosary Society will combine with the parish rosary at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials in her name will be established at a later date.

Mrs. Jakusz was born June 2, 1932, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Barney and Clara (Golla) Schroder. She attended local schools, graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School. She also graduated from the School of Cosmetology in Milwaukee.
She was married to Walter “Wally” Jakusz on June 1 1953, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He died on Oct. 29, 2001.
She worked as a beautician for Powder Puff Hair Salon and Barnaby’s Beauty Salon. She also was a beautician for many years at River Pines and the Portage County Health Care Center.
She was a member of St. Peter Rosary Society Rose 6, Catholic Women’s Club, Polish Women’s Alliance, Annual Lectures of Poland, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Harmonia Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Polish Roman Catholic Union, Catholic Order of Foresters, Portage County Democratic Party, and was known as St. Peter’s Picnic pie lady. She also hosted the annual Knights of Columbus Christmas caroling party. She held offices in many of these organizations.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Mike Gentry) Jakusz and Cherye (Don) Rolnicki, both of Stevens Point.
