Lawrence J. “Luke” Flees, 68, Greenfield, a Portage County native and brother of eight Portage County residents, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, until the Mass.

Mr. Flees was born May 27, 1943, in the town of New Hope, a son of the late Alois and Anne (Yenter) Flees. He attended Peru School, then St. Adalbert Catholic School, graduating from Rosholt High School in 1961. After high school he relocated to Milwaukee.
He was married to Catherine Pederson on Oct. 17, 1987. They later divorced.
He worked at Briggs & Stratton for 35 years until his retirement on June 30, 1997.
Survivors include one daughter, Corliss (Corky) Marie Wollner; six sisters, Margaret (Norman) Biadasz and Anne (Ron) Trzebiatowski, both of Amherst, Caroline (Chester) Eron, Junction City, Eleanor (Dave) Richter and Helen (Ron) Pliska, both of Rosholt, and Bernadette (Robert) Ward, Ulysses, Kan.; and three brothers, Leonard and Alois Jr., both of Rosholt, and Henry (Dorothy), Amherst Junction.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Florian and Ambrose.
