Kenneth F. Carey, 96, Waupaca, formerly of Amherst, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Bethany Home in Waupaca.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Amherst United Methodist Church in Amherst, with Pastor Jim Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until the service.

Mr. Carey was born June 28, 1915, in Amherst, a son of the late Lewis P. and Winnie (Frederickson) Carey.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during World War II where he was honorably discharged in 1945.
He was married to Margaret K. Hetzel on Oct. 18, 1943, in Milwaukee. She died on Dec. 16, 2007.
At age 95, he made the trip on the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., with his special friend, Daniel Gorchals.
He was a member of Amherst United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Gwen), Wausau, and Scott, Amherst; three daughters, Caren (Robert) Mittelstaedt and Cindy (Donald) Maggio, both of Waupaca, and Janice (Dennis) Krusick, Wausau; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dwight, Russell and infant Gerald; and one grandson.
