Jeanette J. Perkins, 83, Plover, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Maple Ridge in Plover.
A celebration of life will take place at 5 p.m. Friday at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Steve Olson officiating. Burial will be in Avon Centre Cemetery in Grayslake, Ill., at noon Monday, with the Rev. Zack Turner officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Friday until the celebration of life.
A memorial will be established in her name at a later date.

Mrs. Perkins was born June 14, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late William and Elise (Knoderer) Weiss. She grew up and attended schools in Chicago.
She was married to Herbert T. Perkins at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Round Lake, Ill. He died on Dec. 17, 1999.
Following marriage, she and her family settled in Grayslake, Ill. In 1993 they moved to Plover.
While living in Portage County, she was active in the Portage County Historical Society, Joint Decisions, the Lincoln Center Remodeling Committee and the procurement of Main Street status for Stevens Point.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Perkins, Waukegan, Ill., and Donna (Paul) Watson, Stevens Point; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth.
