Gary Itzkowitz, 58, Mosinee, a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UW-SP), died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Pisarski Funeral Home in Plover, with a time of sharing memories at 5 p.m.

Mr. Itzkowitz was born March 11, 1953, in Scranton, Pa., a son of Beverly (Braunstein) and the late Sidney Itzkowitz.
He was married to Patricia Falk on Jan. 2, 1998, in Plover.
He was a professor of sociology at UW-SP for 25 years, where he founded the Community Research Center.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Adam, Denver, Colo., Donn Kubnick, Springbrook, and Kristopher (Bethany) Kubnick, Mosinee; his mother, Silver Spring, Md.; one brother, Ted (Barbara), Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters, Fern (Uri) Kadoshy, Israel, and Mari (Kevin Dechicco) Itzkowitz, Washington D.C.; three grandchildren; and his mother -in-law, Zada Falk, Yuma, Ariz.
