Chester W. Adams, 100, Appleton, a Plover native, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012.
A gathering of friends will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Wichmann Funeral Home in Appleton. Interment will be in Dekorra Cemetery in Dekorra in Columbia County.

Mr. Adams was born March 14, 1911, in Plover.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
He was married to Ruth Reedal on Sept. 24, 1938, in Phillips. She preceded him in death.
After working a couple of years for Civilian Conservation Corps, he started working for Kimberly Clark Corporation in 1940 in various engineering capacities in Wisconsin mills and corporate research. He retired after 31 years of service.
Survivors include one son, John (Linda); and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sara J. Adams, in 2011.
