Lawrence E. Landowski, 76, Wisconsin Rapids, a Stevens Point native, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. William Menzel officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in the town of Grand Rapids in Wood County.
Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. A parish prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Landowski was born July 24, 1931, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Edward and Monica (Klasinski) Landowski.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from April 1953 until April 1955.
He was married to Sophie T. Bazan on Aug. 10, 1957, in Stevens Point. She died Jan. 8, 2001.
He was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. (now Stora Enso), retiring in 1989 as the supervisor of the cleaning department at the Wisconsin Rapids Division.
He was a longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan (fiancé-Russell Meronk) Landowski, Rudolph, and Karen Landowski and Linda (Robin) Ewert, both of Wisconsin Rapids; one son, Duane (Debbie Hengel), Madison; two sisters, Isabelle (Gerald) Petersen, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Eugenia (William) Traynor, Sheboygan; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Maynard.
