Walter K. Leppen, 93, Nelsonville, a part-owner of Waller’s Meat Market in Nelsonville and a longtime Nelsonville village treasurer, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nelsonville Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Andrea Mwalilino officiating. Burial will be in the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Leppen was born Dec. 25, 1913, in the town of New Hope, a son of the late Einar and Ida (Waller) Leppen.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
He was married to Carla I. (Kjer) Oberman on Dec. 27, 1952. She died on Dec. 26, 2003.
He was part-owner of Waller’s Meat Market in Nelsonville since 1947.
He served as treasurer for the village of Nelsonville for many years from the late 1940s until 1983.
He was a member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Lee) Larson and Linda (Wayne) Carey, both of Amherst; one son, Walter (Karla), Stevens Point; one sister, Lydia Balthazar, Iola; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Oberman; four brothers, Elmer, Ernest, Howard and Sidney; and one sister, Alice Leppen.
