Stanley B. Zabrowski, 85, 277 Main St., Rosholt, a longtime Rosholt village treasurer, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at his home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt, with the Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the services. St. Adalbert Men’s Rosary Society will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Rosholt Lions Club in lieu of flowers.
Mr. Zabrowski was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Amherst Junction, a son of the late Adolph and Anna (Wanserski) Zabrowski. He graduated from Rosholt High School in 1933.
He was married to Agnes Woyak on Oct. 15, 1938, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway.
After the marriage, they lived in Wausau for a short time before finally settling in Rosholt.
He was employed as a manager for the Rosholt Box Factory. He owned and operated Zabrowski Trucking, retiring in 1962.
He was the Rosholt village treasurer for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Village of Rosholt Board for 35 years and the Portage County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners for 15 years.
He was a member of the Rosholt Lions Club, receiving the Distinguished Service Award for 32 years of service. He was also a member of the St. Adalbert Men’s Rosary Society and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer for eight years.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald (Rose) and Patrick (Terri), both of Stevens Point; and Randal (Sharon), Sheboygan; one daughter, Susan (Larry) Churas, Plover; one brother, John “Jack” (Genny), Eland; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and two grandsons.
