Audrey Jeanette Kelch, 83, Madison, a former Park Ridge resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at Meriter Park Hospital in Madison.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lutheran Church of the Living Christ in Madison, with the Rev. Daniel C. Kowert officiating. Interment of ashes will be held in Tigerton Union Cemetery in Tigerton at 1 p.m. Monday.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday at the church until the services.
A memorial has been established to the Organ Fund of the Lutheran Church of the Living Christ in Madison in lieu of flowers.
Gunderson West Funeral Home in Middleton assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Kelch was born Dec. 1,1917, in St. Maries, Idaho, a daughter of the late William F. and Ella M. (Baum) Becker. As a child, the family returned to Tigerton and later moved to Bowler. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1935.
She attended Baylor University in Texas and the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. She received a bachelor’s degree in music from Lawrence University in Appleton in 1940.
She was married to Paul Kelch at Fort Sam Houston Chapel in San Antonio, Texas, on Dec. 21, 1941. He died June 25, 2000.
During his military career they lives in Texas, Korea, New York, Germany, Indiana, Hawaii, Arkansas and Wisconsin.
She taught school in Texas and Korea and volunteered at school and church as a pianist, organist and choir member. She also volunteered for community organizations, such as Girl Scouts.
She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Lawrence Alumni Association, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of Bentonville, Ark., and the Lutheran Church of the Living Christ of Madison.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine (Stephen E. Bablitch) Bablitch Kelch, Madison, and Jeanette L. (William C.) Handrich, Amherst Junction; two brothers, Eugene “Bud” (Mary) Becker, Tyler, Texas, and Randolph (Fern) Becker, Rogers, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
