Melissa M. Wanta, 22, Amherst Junction, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 11, 2001, in Stevens Point.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher, with the Rev. Robert Pedretti officiating. Burial of cremains will be in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Cemetery.
A memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the services.
A memorial has been established in her name.
The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family.
Ms. Wanta was born Nov. 1, 1978, in Stevens Pont, a daughter of Robert and Ruth (Stuczynski) Wanta.
Survivors include her parents, Amherst Junction; two brothers, Jason (Paula) Wanta, Stevens Point, and Derrick Wanta, Wisconsin Rapids; one sister, Karla (Josh) Anderson, Amherst Junction; her paternal grandmother, Frances Wanta, Stevens Point; and her paternal grandparents, Frank and Verona Stuczynski, Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Stanley Wanta.
