Ignatius “Nick” L. Zblewski, 80, formerly of Custer, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at the Portage County Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday at the church until the services.
Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Zblewski was born Feb. 1, 1921, in the town of New Hope, a son of the late Jacob and Johanna (Dulak) Zblewski. He attended school in the town of New Hope.
He worked on the family farm, and then in various factories in Milwaukee from 1947 to 1954. He was with Teamsters Local 200 as a truck driver from 1954 to 1975, and then worked for Joerns Furniture from 1978 to 1985.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Isadore Society and Holy Name Society.
Survivors include two nephews, Jim (Mattie) Omitt, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mike Zblewski, Milwaukee; three nieces, Rose Fuchs, Milwaukee, Gloria (Tom) Young, Rosemont, Ill., and Patricia Lasher, Shawano; great-nephews and nieces and great-great-nephews and nieces.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Dennis, an infant; and one sister, Emily Omitt.
