Darwin “Doc” Lee Wittig, 51, Almond, died Thursday, July 26, 2001.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home & Crematory in Friendship, with Dennis Wittig officiating. Interment will be in the White Creek Cemetery in Adams County.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wittig was born April 10, 1950, a son of Alfred and Henrietta (Elderkin) Wittig. He grew up in White Creek in Adams County and graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1969.
After high school, he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
He was married to Jacqueline O’Dell.
He worked at the Portage County Health Care Center until illness forced him to retire.
He was a firefighter and emergency medical technician with the Almond Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tanya and Heather, both of Almond; one brother, Dennis (Carol); one sister, Donna (David) McCleish; and one granddaughter.
