Marjorie G. Eck, 87, 3532 Regent St., died Friday, June 1, 2001, at her home while under the care of Hospice of Portage County.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Ed Hunt officiating. Friends may also share time with the family for the burial, which will take place at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery, before the services.
Memorials have been established in her name in lieu of flowers for Hospice of Portage County and Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Shuda Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Eck was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Ismay, Mont., a daughter of the late Homer and Hilda (Steen) Gilbert. As a child she moved with her family to Minneapolis, Minn., and completed her education.
She was married to Charles Eck on Nov. 29, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minn.
They settled in the central Wisconsin area more than 40 years ago and moved to Stevens Point in 1965.
She worked as a secretary at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Gerald G., Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Jean L. Pierce, Duluth, Minn.; one brother, Ralph (Ruth) Gilbert, Minneapolis, Minn.; three grandchildren; and great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters.
