Evelyn “Ev” J. Darin, 56, Oregon, a former Stevens Point resident, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, June 15, 2001.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Oregon, with the Rev. Pat Siebler officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gunderson Funeral Home in Oregon and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the services.
Mrs. Darin was born Nov. 23, 1944, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late Roy and Alvine Christensen. She grew up and attended schools in Stevens Point.
She also attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and other education included Designations of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and Associated Claims.
She was married to Tony Darin on Oct. 4, 1986, in Stevens Point.
She was employed as a hospital unit clerk in the PVS unit at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics since 1999. Prior to that she was employed by Heritage Mutual Insurance in Madison and Sheboygan for 23 years as a district claims manager and senior claims representative.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Lisa (Bob) Davis, Brooklyn; one son, Daniel Colbert, Plymouth; two brothers, Richard (Babe) Gray, Land O’ Lakes, Fla., and Ralph (Paula) Christensen, Westfield; one sister, Shirley (Mike) Bablitch, Stevens Point; her former husband, Jerry Colbert, Sheboygan; and two grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Russ Christensen.
