Thomas F. Kocurek, 54, 2216 Division St., Apt. A, a Stevens Point painter and former pet store owner, was pronounced dead at St. Michael’s Hospital Sunday, May 6, 2001, from heart complications.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Boston Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel Kozlowski officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until the services.
Mr. Kocurek was born Aug. 5, 1946, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late Frank and Helen Kocurek. While in high school he moved to Marquette, Wis., to live with his brother. He graduated from Markesan High School.
He moved to Stevens Point and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
After college he was an assistant state Department of Natural Resources warden in Portage County for a number of years.
He was a painter and ran a pet shop called “Tom’s Aquarium Pet Shop” in the south side business district for 10 years.
Survivors include one sister, Vivian Kocurek-Rother, Whittier, Calif.; and one brother, Stanley (Emily), Marquette.
He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
