Ruth E. Jackson, 92, 2225 Clark St., died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Boston Funeral Home, with a time to gather and visit the family following the service. Burial took place at Forest Cemetery.
A memorial is established in her name for Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Jackson was born Nov. 5, 1908, in Fargo, N.D., a daughter of the late John and Lucy Pearl (Lawrence) Peterson. She moved frequently as a child with her family, but grew up mostly in Chicago, Ill.
She attended Frances Shimer College in Chicago, and Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
She was married to S. Webster Jackson on Feb. 7, 1931, in Chicago. He died May 4, 1998.
They moved to Stevens Point in 1936.
She was a Grey Lady, a Scout leader and an emeritus member of the Fortnightly Study Club.
She was a member of Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean (Kenneth) Schaefle, Evanston, Ill.; one son, John Peter, San Diego, Calif.; five grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
