Irene L. Galloway, 76, 3401 Tommy’s Turnpike, Plover, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at home after battling cancer.
Services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point.
A rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the service.
Memorials may be designated to cancer research or the Hospice of Portage County.
Jensen-Jinsky Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Galloway was born Feb. 19, 1925, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late August and Ann (Lazewski) Groshek.
She was married to George A. Galloway in 1943.
She worked 25 years for New York Life Insurance and spent later years caring for the elderly.
She was active in the community and in her church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gerald (Cynthia) and Andrew (Carol), both of Eau Claire; one brother, Joseph (Cornelia) Groshek, Rudolph; and nine grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, George Jr.; four brothers, August, Harry, Ben and John Groshek; and four sisters, Laura, Ann, Esther and Margie.
