Evelyn R. Richter, 83, 2698 County Road J, Rosholt, formerly of Galloway, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway, with the Rev. Herb Zoromski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church and again from 9 a.m. Thursday until the services. The St. Joseph Rosary Society will combine with the general rosary at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, and a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Richter was born Aug. 6, 1917, in the town of Alban, a daughter of the late Aleas and Bertha (Stanislawski) Simonis.
She was married to Benedict Richter on Nov. 13, 1937, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. He died Dec. 11, 1961.
They farmed in the towns of Sharon (Portage County) and Franzen (Marathon County) most of their lives.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Rosary Society in Galloway.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Gerald) Wanta, Galloway, Lorraine (Richard) Yenter, Rosholt, and Andrea (Richard) Singer, Stevens Point; one son, Richard (Susan) Richter, Galloway; four brothers, Joe Simonis, Dennis (Florence) Simonis, Bill (Lorraine) Simonis and Fritz (Beatrice) Simonis, all of Rosholt; two sisters, Henrietta Kosobucki, Portage County Health Care Center, and Melanie (Gordon) Zietlow, Iola; 26 grandchildren; and 60 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Randall, and one sister, Sylvia.
