Sophie Milanowski, 84, 217 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dennis Worzalla officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Friday at the church until the services. The Rosary Society will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Milanowski was born April 28, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late John and Stella (Warzynski) Koraleski. She grew up in Amherst and attended school in Fancher.
She was married to Benedict “Ben” Milanowski on Nov. 19, 1938, at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher. He died in March 1995.
After the marriage, they settled in Stevens Point. She resided at Riverside Suites since 1998.
She was a full-time mother and homemaker.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Rosary Society Rose 20 for more than 40 years and Women of the Moose.
Survivors include four daughters, Janet (Bob) White and Ruth (Mike) Daniels, both of Stevens Point, Sue Leck, Amherst, and Chris (Bryon) Przybylski, Plover; one son, Norbert (Marlene), Amherst; one brother, Paul (Lorraine) Koraleski, Stevens Point; two sisters, Mary Glodowski, Plover, and Ceil Adams, Amherst; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Tom; one daughter, Judy Cieslewicz; one sister, Stacia Kropidlowski; two brothers, Stanley and Leonard Koraleski; and one grandson.
