Prosper W. Slagowski, 85, 514 Polk St., Whiting, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at the Portage County Health Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dan Kozlowski officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home. A general rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Slagowski was born Jan. 18, 1916, in the town of Sharon, a son of the late Stanley and Theresa (Kruzicki) Slagowski. He attended local schools.
He was married to Eleanor Gawlik on Feb. 6, 1937, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover.
After the marriage, the couple settled in the Stevens Point area.
He worked for Lullabye Furniture Co. from Aug. 10, 1937, until his retirement on May 15, 1981.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mary (Rollin) Janota, Bloomer, Irene (Charles) Alderman, Burke, Va., and Linda (Tom) Hoffman, Stevens Point; two brothers, Max (Gertie), Stevens Point, and Lloyd, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Regina Rozewicz, Mosinee; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter and two sisters.
