Kathleen “Kathy” R. Firkus, 57, 6999 County Road Q, Custer, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at her home while under the care of Hospice of Portage County.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Custer.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home. A general rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Firkus was born Sept. 28, 1943, in Stevens Point, a daughter of Helen (Chila) Wnuk and the late Raymond Wnuk. She attended St. Peter School and graduated from Maria High School on June 2, 1961.
She was married to David Firkus on Sept. 18, 1965, at St. Peter Catholic Church.
After the marriage, they lived in Stevens Point for 10 years before settling at their present address.
She worked at Sentry Insurance after graduation and also worked at Copps Corp. She most recently worked at Associated Bank.
She and her husband were active in various motorcycle clubs.
Survivors include her husband; one son, David J., Custer; two daughters, Michele Firkus, Philadelphia, Pa., and Elizabeth Firkus, Wausau; her mother, Stevens Point; two brothers, David (Althea) Wnuk and Robert (Joanne) Wnuk, both of Plover; and two sisters, Marcia (Barry) Annis and Cheri (Robert) Karch, both of Stevens Point.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Wnuk.
