James W. Gow, 94, 700 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home. A Bible vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the St. Peter Endowment Trust Fund.
Mr. Gow was born Oct. 25, 1906, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late George and Jennie (Lynn) Gow. He attended schools in Chicago and graduated from Crane Technical High School in Chicago.
He served with the Illinois Reserve Militia from 1941 to 1947.
He was married to Theresa Buza on June 16, 1934, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Chicago.
After the marriage, they settled in Chicago where he worked for Edison Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1971.
In 1981 they moved to Stevens Point where they settled at their present address.
He was a member of St. Angela Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council 1170 and the Wisconsin Stamp Club.
Survivors include his wife; one son, George (Patricia), Huntley, Ill.; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
