Frank Swiander, 72, Hastings, Neb., a Stevens Point native, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, of cancer at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Neb.
Services were April 17 at Good Samaritan Village All Saints Chapel in Hastings, with the Rev. Bill Liddell officiating. A private family burial was held.
Visitation was held at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home in Hastings.
Memorials may be given to the family or to American Cancer Society.
Mr. Swiander was born Dec. 3, 1928, a son of the late John and Katherine (Rucinski) Swiander in Stevens Point. He graduated from Stevens Point High School.
He was married to Melva Jager in Hastings, Neb., on March 16, 1971.
He was employed by Kully Pipe and Steel in Hastings and was also a self-employed handyman.
Survivors include his wife, Hastings; and four sisters, Betty (Thomas) Bella, Joan Swiander, Delores (Charles) Deuel and Terry (James) Weisbrod, all of Stevens Point.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Gianolia, Dorothy Hopp and Hedwig Kawlewski.
