Charles W. Lotz, 85, Saddle Ridge, a former Stevens Point resident, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at the Divine Savior Extended Care Facility in Portage.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Divine Savior Nursing Home Chapel in Portage.
The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Lotz was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Cadott, a son of the late Leonard and Edna (Nebal) Lotz.
He served with the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps from 1942 to 1946 at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland and in both theaters of World War II.
He was married to Lorraine “Lori” Lotz. She died April 3, 1992.
He began his teaching career with the Lindholm Vocational and Adult School in Stevens Point on June 27, 1946. He retired from Waukesha County Technical College in April 1978 after teaching there for 21 years. He was recognized for distinguished leadership in vocational education by the Wisconsin Association for Vocational and Adult Education in April 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellis (Chris) Dietrich, State College, Pa., and Patricia A. Lange, Yucaipa, Calif.; and two grandsons.
