Dawn Marie Jakobi, 46, 1068 Forest Lake Drive, Plover, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at home while under the care of Hospice of Portage County.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Bob Barnes officiating. Burial will be in the Plover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Boston Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the services.
A memorial will be established in her name.
Ms. Jakobi was born March 7, 1955, in Neillsville, a daughter of Donald F. Jakobi and the late Joan Marie Gage. She grew up in Marshfield and Stevens Point.
She attended Edgewood College in Madison for two years for paralegal training and received a certified nursing assistant certificate.
She worked at the First National Bank in Stevens Point, Marshfield Hospital, First Financial Bank in Stevens Point and currently at Rice Medical Center. She also worked weekends at the Portage County Health Care Center.
She was married to Ronald C. Lepinski in 1972. He preceded her in death.
She was married to Larry K. Higgins in 1980. They later divorced.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a volunteer for Hospice of Portage County. She was also an active volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Portage County, the American Cancer Society fund-raising activities and the Special Olympics.
Survivors include one daughter, Shannon (Todd) Guyes, Kaukauna; one son, Brent Higgins, Plover; her father, Unity; her stepfather, Gene Przekurat, Madison; her fiance, Rex Rossier, Plover; five brothers, Gary (Barb) Jakobi, Marathon, Don Jakobi Jr., Stevens Point, Darnell Jakobi, Marshfield, Daryl (Amy) Jakobi, Loyal, and Scott (Christine) Jakobi, Unity; seven sisters, Phyllis (David) Lawton, Wisconsin Dells, Cheryl (Ron) Nagorski, Chris (Kenny) Hintz and Michelle (Dennis) Manthe, all of Stevens Point, Gayle Jakobi, Unity, Tammy (Roger) Vanderhest, Spencer, and Denise (Jeff) Rucker, Pittsville; and two granddaughters.
