Wanda R. Wisniewski, 89, Greeneville, Tenn., a former Stevens Point resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Life Care Center in Greeneville.
Services will be Monday in McHenry, Ill. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in McHenry.
The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home in Greenville, Tenn., from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Wisniewski was born April 30, 1911, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late Vincent and Louise (Nycz) Reichel. She attended Carl Schurz High School and received a diploma in the Secretarial Department of Columbia Business College in Chicago in 1931. She also received a teacher’s certificate in piano from Master Conservatory in Chicago in 1928.
She was married to Bernard Wisniewski on Nov. 24, 1938, in Chicago, Ill. He died Nov. 1, 1978.
She was a resident of McHenry, Ill., for 30 years and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in McHenry.
She was a piano accompanist for musicals directed by a priest and in the Lakeland Park Theatrical Group for the benefit of McHenry County Mental Health Center.
After her husband died, she lived in Stevens Point and then Greeneville, Tenn., to be near her daughter.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Paul) Nellessen, Greeneville, Tenn., and Delphine (Joseph) Ornelas, Ingleside, Ill.; one son, Robert (Michelle) Wess, Newport Beach, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Raymond B., and one sister, Emily Wlezien.
