Virginia C. Cashin, 81, 1201 Soo Marie Ave., died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at home while under the care of Hospice of Portage County.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Donald Przybylski officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Boston Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Memorials have been established in her name for Hospice of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area Catholic Schools.
Mrs. Cashin was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (Wolderski) Benke. She graduated from Emerson High School and attended Central State Teachers College.
She was married to James E. Cashin on July 23, 1943, in Norfolk, Va. He died Sept.1, 1992.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and was involved in curling, golfing, bridge and bowling.
Survivors include three daughters, Caren (Richard) Schoenberger, West Simsbury, Conn., Marge (Alan) Engebretson and Mary (Dean) Van Order, both of Stevens Point; two sons, Tom (Kathleen) and Pat (Cherie), both of Plover; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
