Mary Rose Erickson, 91, 2408 Ellis St., died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital. She had been under the care of Hospice of Portage County.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Alan Burkhardt officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church until the services.
A memorial has been established in her name for Hospice of Portage County.
Shuda Funeral Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Erickson was born April 14, 1909, in Auburndale, a daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Meidl) Hilgart.
She was married to Bellford Erickson on Sept. 26, 1933, in Auburndale. He died Feb. 28, 1990.
After their marriage they moved to Stevens Point. In 1956 they purchased the Triangle Store, which they operated until 1971.
After retirement, they traveled extensively.
She was a member of the St. Anne’s Society, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary the Catholic Women’s Club and the Foresters. She was also a volunteer at the Portage County Home and St. Michael’s Hospital.
She was a member of the St. Anne’s Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (William) Haack, Appleton, and Linda (John) Tomaszewski, Stevens Point; one sister, Loretta Grassl, Watsonville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
