Margaret “Pam” R. Spreda, 96, Portage County Health Care Center, died there Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Kozlowski officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Boston Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Spreda was born July 22, 1904, in Portage County, a daughter of the late Frank and Pearl (Keen) Drabes. She grew up in the Stevens Point area, graduating from Emerson High School.
She received a teaching degree from Stevens Point Normal School and began teaching in rural schools. She was later employed at Wisconsin Bell Telephone in Stevens Point.
She was married to Jerome L. Spreda on Oct. 3, 1926. He died Oct. 26, 1961.
She lived at 1709 Elk St., before entering the nursing home.
She was a member of St. Stephen Parish.
Survivors include one son, Wesley (Audrey), Stevens Point; two daughters, Shirley Bretzel, Milwaukee, and Joan (Dr. Ronald) Laessig, Madison; one sister, Dorothy Huber, Stevens Point; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Jean, one sister and one brother.
