Fredrick J. Prain, 73, 212 Linwood Ave., Park Ridge, a retired Plover buesinessman, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Boston Funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Nulton officiating. Cremation will follow, and interment of ashes will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Prain was born Jan. 19, 1928, ion Plover, a son of the late Harry and Irma (Taylor) Prain. He attended grade school in Plover and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.
He entered the U.S. Army Air Force in April 1946 and was discharged in May 1947 at Selfridge Field, Mich.
He was married to Charleen Altenburg on Jan. 7, 1950, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point.
He worked for West Dairy in Plover and Delzell Oil Co. in Stevens Point, prior to moving to California in 1953, where he worked as an over-the-road truck drive. He returned to Stevens Point in 1973 and entered into a partnership with his brother, Jack, in the Texaco Oil Business. He retired in 1993.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Daubert and Wanda (Al) Miller, both of Plover; and five grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
