Frank A. Somers, 87, 7412 Sixth St., Custer (town of Stockton), a longtime town of Stockton supervisor, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Custer, with the Rev./ Robert Schaller officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Friday at the church until the services. The Catholic Order of Foresters and the St. Isadore Society will combine with the general rosary at7 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Somers was born Aug. 16, 1913, in the town of Stockton, a son of the late John and Catherine (Zurawski) Somers.
He was married to Evelyn Stroik on Sept. 13, 1941, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.
He farmed on the family farm all of his life, retiring in 1974. After retirement, he worked part-time at the Stevens Point Country Club for 16 years.
He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters for 50 years and the St. Isadore Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.
He was a town of Stockton supervisor for 30 years, from 1953 until retiring in 1982.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Rose Marie (Robert) Wanserski, Stevens Point, and Sandie (Victor) Ogden, Appleton; one son, Tom (Pat) Somers, Custer; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
