Florence Donelon, 91, formerly of Lake Carmel, N.Y., aunt of a Stevens Point man, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point..
Funeral services will be held in Carmel, N.Y.
Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home assisted the family with local arrangements.
Mrs. Donelson was born Feb. 16, 1910, in West Hurley, N.Y., a daughter of the late Thomas and Frances (Hoffman) O’Keefe.
She was married to Terrance Donelon on April 5, 1937. He died in 1961.
They lived in New York City until 1946 when they moved to their summer home in Lake Carmel.
She went to work for Putnam County, N.Y., in 1952, and retired as the supervisor of the Real Property Tax Department in 1981. She moved to Wisconsin in 1999 to be close to her nephew and his family because of failing health.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, a life member of the Lake Carmel Fire Department Auxiliary and a former member/secretary of the Lake Carmel Property Owner’s Association, Kent Senior Citizens, Putnam County AARP and St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Carmel, N.Y.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Robert (Hilde) Woehr, Stevens Point; Ruth Woehr (Joseph) Adler, Gambier, Ohio; Dennis O’Keefe, New Paltz, N.Y.; and Doris O’Keefe, Worchester, Mass.
