Dorothy Alice (Redding) Somers, 87, 917 Soo Marie Ave., died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at the Portage County Health Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Kozlowski officiating. Burial of her ashes will be in the spring at St. Stephen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Boston Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday following the memorial service.
A memorial will be established in her name later.
Mrs. Somers was born May 29, 1913, at her family homestead in the town of Stockton, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Anna (Mittlesteadt) Redding.
She was married to Conrad C. Somers at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Aug. 16, 1939.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and two bridge clubs in earlier years. She was also active as a den leader in Cub Scouts.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael O. (Diane), Portland, Ore., and Mark J. (Jane), Wausau; and two grandsons.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Julia (Redding) Day and Mae (Redding) Wagner; and four brothers, Patrick, Erven, Sylvester and James.
