Sophie T. Landowski, 71, Wisconsin Rapids, wife of a former Stevens Point man, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at her residence.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Menzel officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. There will be a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Landowski was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late John and Anna (Bazan) Sliwa.
She was married to Lawrence Lewandowski on Aug. 10, 1957, in Stevens Point.
She worked for local hotels as a housekeeper, most recently with the Hotel Mead.
She was a member of St. Vincent’s Women’s Club.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Susan (Terry) Crinklaw, Eloy, Ariz., Karen Landowski, Wisconsin Rapids, and Linda (Robin) Ewert, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one son, Duane, Madison; one brother, Frank (Blanche) Sliwa, Chicago; one sister, Anna (John) Rucinski, Mosinee; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Stanley Sliwa.
