Mildred “Millie” Nickel, 70, Greenfield, a Plover native, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Vencor Hospital in Greenfield.
Services were held Sunday at the Elmbrook Church in Brookfield.
Visitation was held at the church before the services.
Mrs. Nickel was born Nov. 4, 1930, in Plover, a daughter of the late Jay and LaVerne Newby. After her mother died when she was 3 years old, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Harry and Esther (Newby) Precourt, in the town of Buena Vista. She attended local schools and was a member of the Buena Vista United Methodist Church.
She was married to Frank Skinner in 1949. They resided in Milwaukee until their divorce in 1970. He survives in Greenfield.
She was married to Dale “Nick” Nickel in 1980 in Waukesha. They lived in Waukesha until moving to Montello in 1990. He died in Oconomowoc in 1995.
Survivors include one son, James (Linda) Skinner, Waukesha; two daughters, Darlene Williams and Linda (Louie Jr.), Calderon, both of Waukesha; extended family members, Lois Precourt, Plover, and Roger (Barbara) Precourt, Valparaiso, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Darwin Newby.
