Florence E. Paukert, 86, formerly of 1100 Shaurette St., died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Portage County Health Care Center, where she resided for one year. Prior to that, she lived at Whispering Pines for one year.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dan Kozlowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and again from 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Paukert was born July 22, 1914, in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Lipinski) Schulfer. She moved to Stevens Point as a child with her parents and attended local schools.
She was married to George Paukert on Jan. 29, 1938, in Stevens Point. He died in November 1963.
She worked for Nigbor Furs and Kostka Furriers before going to work for Sentry Insurance, where she worked until her retirement in 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay (John) Schmidt, Custer, and Betty (Gerald) Thrun, Rosholt; one sister, Irene Borchardt, Stevens Point; one brother, Ted (Ruth) Schulfer, Plover; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and one daughter (infant twins), three sisters and one brother.
