Elaine Marie Rossmiller, 74, 1817 Portage St., died Monday, January 22, 2001.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Convent Chapel.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Portage County, the Alzheimer’s Association or student scholarships.
Mrs. Rossmiller was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Berlin, a daughter of the late Robert and Adeline Broeren.
She was married to Robert G. Rossmiller on Dec. 29, 1951, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Thorp.
She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in learning disabilities from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She taught fifth grade in Thorp and Merrill and was a learning disabilities specialist at Plover-Whiting Elementary School.
She was a member of Newman University Parish.
She was a longtime Girl Scout leader in Merrill. She and her husband were involved with Boy Scouting for more than 50 years in Merrill and Stevens Point.
Following retirement in 1989, she and her husband were active in the Stevens Point Area Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Bentley, Stevens Point, Linda (Mike) Trzebiatowski, Rosholt, and Ann (Mitch) Lechelt, Madison; two sons, Jon Robert (Sheila), Wausau, and Charles (Toni), Sun Prairie; two sisters, Dr. Geraldine (Arlyn) Kline, Crandon, and Dr. Roberta Broeren, Fort Thomas, Ky.; and 11 grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Neal Broeren.
