Bernard “Barney” George. Klawikowski Sr., 92, formerly of Junction City, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at St. Michael’s Hospital, where he had been a patient since Jan. 17.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Martens/Kundinger Funeral Home in Junction City, with the Rev. Norman A. Cole officiating. Burial will be in Runkel Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine.
Visitation will be from noon Wednesday at the funeral home until the services.
Mr. Klawikowski was born Oct. 21, 1907, in the town of Carson, a son of the late Joseph and Anna A. (Flisakowski) Klawikowski. He attended elementary school in Junction City.
He was married to Sadie Mae Wolfe on May 5, 1938, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Junction City. She died Dec. 19, 1969.
He was employed at a Junction City lumber company and also farmed in the town of Eau Pleine until his retirement. He then resided in Plover until he entered River Pines Center in Whiting.
Survivors include one son, Bernard (Cheryl) Jr., Plover; five brothers, August and Joseph, both of Rudolph, William, Tomahawk, and Thomas (Regina) and Michael (Jean), both of Junction City; and two grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, James, Ed and John.
