Alex “Sharky” Sharkowski, 93, 825 Whiting Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at the Portage County Health Care Center where he resided the past four years.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in the town of Hull, with the Rev. Donald Walczak officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. There will be a rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Sharkowski was born Sept. 6, 1907, in the town of Hull, a son of the late John and Catherine (Shuda) Sharkowski.
He was marred to Regina Kulas on Nov. 16, 1937, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. She died May 19, 1994.
He and his wife ran Sharky’s Bar in the town of Hull from 1950 to 1969.
He was a past member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include four sisters, Molly Lelko, Brookfield, Ill., and Lucille Paula, Catherine Kimec and Margaret (Henry) Fisher, all of Stevens Point.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Peter, and four sisters, Bridget, Helen, Regina and Johanna.
