Jody Leigh Frie, 38, 1909 Minnesota Ave., died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Convent Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Convent Chapel. There will be a reception at Newman University Parish Center following the Funeral Mass.
A memorial will be established in her name.
Boston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frie was born Nov. 2, 1962, in Valparaiso, Ind., a daughter of Gerald and Lorie (Tellock) Nienke. She moved with her family to Stevens Point in 1967 and attended Campus School. She graduated valedictorian of her class in 1980 from Stevens Point Area Senior High School.
She attended MIT at Cambridge, Mass., receiving a bachelor of arts degree in 1984 and a master’s in 1985. She received a fellowship to Princeton University for a year.
She was married to Richard V. Frie on June 29, 1991, at St. Joseph Convent Chapel. He died Aug. 24, 1995.
She moved back to Stevens Point in 1991. She worked for American Cyanimide as a chemical engineer, was a risk assessment supervisor and taught engineers at the company’s various plants around the world.
She was a member of the Newman University Parish.
Survivors include one son, Elliot, at home; and her parents, Stevens Point.
