Roland “Rollie” Schaff, 70, 3716 Lorraine St., a longtime Stevens Point banker, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at his winter home in Mesa, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday the Pisarski/Dikoski Funeral Home, with the Rev. Verlin Wandrey officiating. Cremation was his wishes.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home until the services.
Mr. Schaff was born June 29, 1930, in Chilton, a son of the late Emil and Dorothy (Graf) Schaff.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a tech sergeant flight pilot, receiving the Purple Heart and presidential citation.
He worked for Household Finance, Thorp Finance and Wisconsin Finance before accepting a job in the banking business with First National Bank. He was employed at First National Bank, which became M&I Mid State Bank, for 25 years until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of the Noon Lions International, Izaak Walton League, Elks Club, Ducks Unlimited, Masons, Shriners, Evergreen Lodge #93 F&AM, Golden Sands Builders Association, Stevens Point Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners for 21 years and the Junior Achievement program. He was also involved in Wisconsin Installment Bankers and the American Bankers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila; three daughters, Amy (Brian) Kerwin and Becky (Kurt) Fahler, Green Bay, and Carla (Tim) Van Tassel, Plover; one brother, Ralph (Rosie), Chilton; and six grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold; and one sister, Ann Scheidt.
