Vernon L. Johnson, 72, Plover, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at the Sterling House in Plover, where he had been residing.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church in Dancy, with the Rev. Stephen Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Runkel Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Boston Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Thursday at the church until the services.
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 14, 1928, in the town of Eau Pleine, a son of the late Elmer and Clara (Dimka) Johnson. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.
He was married to Delores Kaskavitch on May 5, 1951, in Louisville, Ky. She died Feb. 13, 1998.
The couple settled in Junction City. They moved to Stevens Point in 1978.
He drove a bulk milk truck route until his retirement in 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie (Jerry) Tork, Stevens Point, and Debbie (Thomas) Jisko, Plover; one sister, Ruth Fredrickson, Junction City; one brother, Milton (Shirley) Johnson, Weston; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
