Robert Subat, 65, Avon Park, Fla., formerly of Plover and a former partner in Commercial Roofing in Plover, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, in Oshkosh while under the care of his family and home hospice.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park in Oshkosh.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home in Oshkosh and from 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the services.
A memorial has been established in his name.
Mr. Subat was born March 7, 1935, in Sheboygan, a son of the Mabel (Trumm) Subat, and the late Edwin Subat.
He attended Sheboygan Falls High School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was married to Judith Patrie in Oshkosh on Oct. 7, 1961.
After graduating from UW-O, he taught earth science at Menomonee Falls North High School until 1978.
He then became a roofing salesman for Ben Lane until he became a partner in Commercial Roofing in Plover in 1981. He was bought out of the partnership in 1996 and worked as a salesman for the company until retiring on Dec. 31, 1999.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; one daughter, Debi Smith, Sebring, Fla.; two sons, David, Milwaukee, and Jeff (Lori), Oshkosh; one brother, Edwin (Ruth), Sheboygan Falls; one sister, Marlee (Jim) Mulnix, Los Lunas, N.M.; and four grandchildren.
